I just left work for the day, but not before stopping to watch McG direct a scene from Terminator: Salvation. Say what you will about him, but I have only ever seen him be kind, encouraging, and easygoing. And today was no different. They were doing a tricky scene with blue screen work and revolving camera angles, and after each take, McG would shout out “Great! That’s perfect! Exactly what I was looking for.” Even after giving notes and changing things a bit, he still gave his cast and crew positive feedback and encouragement. I could tell that everyone there was wholly invested in the project and really trusted him as a director. The minute he suggested a change or set up a new shot, crew guys jumped in to make it so.
Based on what I observed today, I think this film will be a great success. How could it not be, when the director is a true leader and the cast and crew are as passionate about the project as he is?
I originally had no intention of seeing the film, but I think that now I will, and not just because Christian Bale is the star and it was filmed where I work.
P.S. I also saw Bryce Dallas Howard (The Village, Lady in the Water) driving by. She’s very pretty.

Hello!
I followed the link in your IMDB profile to this site. I’m a raging Terminator Salvation fangirl, and I was wondering if you had any other safe-for-public consumption tidbits about watching TS reshoots.

Safe-for-public consumption tidbits? Well, I can tell you what the set looked like, but other than that, there’s nothing I could really tell without getting all spoiler-y. I’ll tell you though, I am now definitely looking forward to seeing the film.

Yeah, I get why you wouldn’t want to get spoilery. It ALWAYS gets back and employers don’t like that kind of thing.
So, what did the set look like?

(Note: I am most definitely going to repost anything you say here on the biggest Terminator forum.)

So cool! In somewhat related news (yes, pun intended), I met Ron Howard in DC this week. He was not as pretty as Bryce.
