Today a new sun rises for me; everything lives, everything is animated, everything seems to speak to me of my passion, everything invites me to cherish it.

- Anne de Lenclos

On Saturday, I went to a black tie gala at Union Station for Act One, Inc.  It was a big fundraiser for them (sponsored tables, silent and live auction, etc), and lots of industry people were there – including Tony Hale!  Best part is, he remembered me!

I had seen him several times on the lot, but never really had a chance to talk to him.  Until last week.  We chatted for a few minutes (I told him I’d seen him at church before, but was too embarrassed to geek out at church and introduce myself – to which, he replied, “well, we’ve met now, so you can come say hi any time you want!”), discussed the Arrested Development movie, and talked about working on Chuck (he plays a corporate lackey from Buy More, sent to shape things up where Chuck and Morgan work).

So when I saw Tony at the gala on Saturday, well, I re-introduced myself and he remembered me!  During dinner they had shown a short film that Tony did called “Ctrl Z,” which also starred Zachary Levi as Tony’s punk boss (he threw a football at Tony’s head – “it’s teamwork!”).  Tony pointed out to me the irony of Zac playing Tony’s boss in Ctrl Z and now in Chuck, Tony is playing Zac’s boss.

Me: You should throw a football at his head!

Tony: I should!  I’m so telling him you said I could.

Me: Tell him I wrote it into the script.

And then, Tony posed for a picture with me and my friends!  (I cropped them out, of course, in the picture below.) He’s a pretty awesome guy, all-around.

  1. Wow, my Hollywood career hasn’t even started, and already I’m on the cutting room floor… :)
