Between watching the Olympics and watching my cousins run 13.1 miles in the SD half-marathon this past weekend, I’ve seen a ton of people doing things really fast.
Why are we always in such a hurry? I feel like we’re turning into the people from The Phantom Tollbooth who live in this big, wonderful, beautiful city and yet all they do is race around from one place to the next, eyes only seeing their feet.
I’m going to try and slow down these next few weeks (well, once the Olympics are over). Maybe spend some more time reading outside in my park (I live right across the street from a great park), or maybe spend some more time hanging out with my friends and family (Nick, Aileen – call me!).
I dunno. I just feel like lately everything’s been so rushed.
That being said, a BIG congratulations to my cousins Nate and Sara for completing the half-marathon in 2 hours and 26 minutes! Yay!
But I can’t help but wonder, what am I missing?
