Writer Extraordinaire

Today a new sun rises for me; everything lives, everything is animated, everything seems to speak to me of my passion, everything invites me to cherish it.

- Anne de Lenclos

I just finished writing a spec script for one of my new favorite tv shows, The Big Bang Theory, and have turned in said script to the Warner Bros. writing program. We’ll see how that goes.

I emailed the script to my mom (she loves it), and she wrote me back with this bit of advice.

“All I know is that writing is a process, and the more we do it, the better we’ll be at it. The only way not to drive yourself crazy with anxiety about the outcome for this particular darling script is to get busy writing the next one. Always be working on your next script. It’s the same philosophy behind having a bunch of kids: the more you produce, the less traumatized you’ll be if one of them dies. Of course, that philosophy’s a bunch of hooey. But it sounds reasonable. That’s why we had Carter. :-)

It’s why they had Cameron, too, right?  So that in the event that I should die tragically young (my second-favorite way to die), well, at least my parents would have two sons to make up for me.

Here’s to my next kid!

  1. I don’t suppose I could procure a copy of said spec script and share in your brilliance…?
