- Ray Romano‘s parents and two of their friends were on my tour today. Ray, your parents are so sweet and kind, and so obviously proud of you. Here’s hoping you and Anna are as good of friends in thirty years as your parents are today.
- I cried on the way home from work today. Why? Because I was reading the script for ER’s 310th(?) episode, and it ends with some seriously sad but wonderously written stuff. It’s sad in a sentimental way, as the characters of ER that we’ve grown to love and know over the past few years celebrate the life of their friend and colleague. No spoilers, I promise, but not every doctor in the finale is going to make it to the 15th season. The beauty of Tinseltown is that it can still create some sparkle, even after a show’s 14 years on the air.
-Also on the way home (after I’d stopped crying), I saw a student driver. I always sigh a little and say “aww!!” in a moment of fond remembrance when I see student drivers, and I also give them a wide berth. And they’re not driving cars with big signs on the roof anymore. Nay, now they drive around in a baby blue Prius that is just as much labeled “STUDENT DRIVER” as it is “I’M A HYBRID – I CARE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT.”
-And speaking of the environment, I saw a commercial that totally makes my day. Watch it here. It’s only 17 seconds long.
How was your Friday?
Now that’s absolutely **no fair** to hint who died on the season finale of ER and not tell me!!!! Elizabeth and I sat there staring at each other, both of our jaws dropping, when the end of the season finale happened and the ambulance blew up, with either Sam or ??? in the back and Abby walking by. (I can’t remember who was arguing with Sam about being in the back — I shouldn’t be reading blogs at nearly 2 AM).
We’re consoling ourselves by watching the early seasons (like 1 & 2) on DVD from the library. We’re hoping to watch most of them over the summer since E is now old enough to watch….
And you sat practically WITH George Clooney at lunch???? We’ve GOT TO get up there to see you!
(((Hugs)))
