Today was my day of affirmation.
I was affirmed in my job and in my writing. Yay!
My job: I had two of the BEST tours today. Seriously, even way better than showing my own friends and family around. (Though, in fairness to them, today was a much nicer day, weather-wise, than the day they all came in August.) The first group I had today were a bunch of actors from GA and FL and they all had great questions, were engaged, and thought I was just so funny. (Thinking I’m funny is a BIG indicator to me that we’re gonna have a great time). And my second tour, though not quite as outgoing, were just as great and had really smart questions. And one guy in the group (a cutie, too!) had seen every episode of Pushing Daisies, so he LOVED seeing The Pie Hole. Days like today, when the weather is warm and the guests are great, make me truly love my job. I am so blessed to be so unsupervised and basically just get to play all day outside. I love it!
My writing: Okay, not really my writing per se, but it’s something I wrote. And it’s published (sort-of)! On the internet! Yeah, you can read what I wrote here. Since only my first name is on there, you just have to take my word for it. But if you kinda read what I wrote out loud and “hear” my voice in your head, you’ll realize it’s totally what I’d say. And mostly, I’m just thrilled that I’ve finally made my way onto the website for my favorite magazine, Entertainment Weekly. I’ve been a loyal subscriber of the magazine for five years now and I check the website several times a day (how else to feed my TV addictions when I’m at work?). So now that I’ve been “featured” on their website… Well, I hope my mom is proud.
By the way, what are ya’ll doing for Lent? I’m doing something that, if when Lent ends I’m still doing it, I’ll tell you about it later.
PROUD? You bet I am!! And you ARE FUNNY!! Kudos, my golden girl! Write on!

You deserve affirmation, you talented thing, you! I loved your blurb on “Boomtown” and am thrilled you had not one but two great tours. Published on the EW site??? Too cool!!! Elizabeth will be jealous to the moon and back.
Now, you will have a great tour when we FINALLY make it up there, right?????
We’ll all make each other laugh….

I’m so excited for you! I recently discovered there are some recordings of me in a few places on the interweb, and I didn’t even know it! It’s just one of those things that makes you feel like you’ve definitely taken a step in the right direction. Good for you! Don’t forget how much I love you.

Hey, good work kiddo. I don’t think I even ever heard of that show, but, you made me interested to see it with your comment – you know how I am so I would probably blubber too. I’m very proud of you and your work. Keep on plugging even through the bummer tours – you will prevail!

Nice work, dude!
For Lent, Nate and I do the traditional fast – no meat, sweets, or alcohol until Easter. And, since the idea is to take away something pleasant and replace it with something spiritual, more focus on the suffering of Christ, we’re spending more time praying together each day.
