I get off the elevator yesterday morning, around 9:20 a.m. and I was no longer in Burbank.
Nope, I’d walked right into a scene for the hit television show The Closer, which stars the amazing and lovely Kyra Sedgwick. (She’s married to Kevin Bacon, by the way, and has been since 1988!)
They were using our beautiful lobby with its lots of big windows as the lobby of a Los Angeles courthouse. It was so very cool for this uber-nerdy cineast (it’s a real word – look it up) to see a real production and all its trappings, everything from cameras and lights to assistants doing crossword puzzles to lead actors rehearsing their scenes. AMAZING!! I even got to talking to a guy who turned out to be the location scout and he was so much fun with our tours.
The Closer was filming in our lobby until 2pm or so, so my first two tours of the day got to see filming going on. I think I may have been more excited than they were, but hey, an enthusiastic guide makes for an enthusiastic group. 
In fact, most of the time, I find that if I can keep myself entertained on a tour (I, who have seen most everything), then my tour guests are bound have a great time as well.
So come take my tour, and you never know what you might see here on the lot.
