Week Two

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

Well, it’s been a crazy long week.
Training has been a lot of repetition, just getting practice driving the golf carts around the lot and talking at the same (yeah, it’s really as easy as it sounds).
We’ve also been able to go into a lot of post production areas and today we even got to sit [...]

Irony, Or Just Plain Comedy?

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

I got two flat tires tonight.
One tire went flat when I was in the fast lane, about a mile from a freeway interchange.
The other tire, my spare, went flat the minute there was weight on it.
Thank God my cousins live in town and love me enough to call AAA for me.
I’m exhausted.

Blast From The Past

Sunday, June 17th, 2007

I have been watching season one of the television show called ER.  Not only is it amazing, but everyone is in it!
Clooney, Wyle, Macy, Margulies… Everyone!
And I was pleasantly surprised to see a few cast members from one of my favorite shows,  Lost, also showing up on ER as series regulars.

My First Week

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

Well, I’m done with my first week of training.  I was so exhausted last night that I think I slept for about 10 hours.  It’s been a intense week, and I feel like I’ve been here for waaaay longer than a week.

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

Today was a long day.
I got to work around 7:50 a.m., finished some homework from the night before, and then from 8:00 a.m. on, I was in meetings with executives and our managers, driving around the lot, and taking notes as fast as my hands could.
In the midst of all that, I did get a [...]

Information Overload

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

My second and third days have been pretty much like my first day. Meetings in the mornings with department staff, q & a sessions with executives at WB Studios, and then ride-along tours.
Yesterday we walked all around the back lots (where exterior or outside scenes are filmed in front of facades or false fronts) [...]

My First Day

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Today was my first day at work at Warner Brothers Studios. Amazing. I am very tired, of course, and my brain is still on information overload, but it was a great day.
Brief rundown:
7:35 a.m. – I left my friend’s apartment and drove 3.3 miles to 3400 Riverside Dr, Burbank, CA 91505, also known [...]

I’m Here!

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

Yup, I’m in Los Angeles.
I am a little bit nervous about starting my new job tomorrow, but mostly I am just excited an anxious.
Some people have been asking why I didn’t take some time off between quitting my old job and starting my new one (my last day at Hydro-Scape was Friday; I start at [...]
