(The title for this post is a song title from The Producers, by the way.)
So basically, I’ve decided that pretty much almost anything that is said or written can be construed as “gay.” (Really, anything taken out of context can be construed as anything else and this, I believe, is the real problem with communication.)
There are some really hilarious videos on YouTube that are movie trailers for fictional movies, such as Brokeback to the Future (which combines the tone and language of Brokeback Mountain with clips from Back to the Future).
But… um… what was I saying? Oh yeah! Since anything can be taken out of context and make people whisper “Oh, I think he’s gay because…” we can’t, absolutely cannot assume that a person is homosexual just because of something they say or do.
My policy is, unless people tell you themselves, DON’T ASSUME!
And really, as Christians and fellow human beings, it won’t make any difference in how we treat them.
Right?
